Big Week

Baby Jay was getting ready for his bath when I snapped this picture. He was rolling away from me and having fun.

Michael seems to think by the looks of him he gained 5 pounds in one day!

My sweet little guy!
His latest feats clapping and sitting up! What a big week for him!
Make sure and scroll down and see baby Jay eat with chopsticks. The picture is up!

Chopsticks!

This morning I ran a few errands and then picked my mother up for a day of fun. We went on a Bealls and Big Lots search! She was looking for deals on senior discount days and I was looking for scrappy stuff. No luck on my end! But my mother found a few deals! We had such a wonderful time!
We met up with Mike at VariAsian. It is a sushi bar and buffet. She called Michael on the phone and said, "Would you think your mother in law is trying to buy your love if she takes you to lunch?" He couldn't say no to her! Well, when push came to shove, there was no way he would leave her pay! As much as we go to her house for dinner...we could not allow it. PS: I love that she invites us so often!

I keep thinking it is too much myself, but then I remind myself she is going to be gone for over 3 months back to the PA house! With gas the way it is, I don't know whether or not we will be taking that trip this summer.
I just checke donline for flights from ORL to DuBois and it is 219.00 per person roundtrip. Times three...well you do the math, it's alot!

Well, that and we'd need to rent a bus to travel my family around town...with a carseat and stroller... LOL!

After stopping at the post office, Mother and I picked up the children and she treated them to McDonald's! She had an iced coffee. I was still zinging around after having iced tea for lunch on a caffeine buzz. I am so not used to caffeine since being off it so long with baby. It was kind of fun to have that shaky caffeine rush happening! hahaha

Baby Jay was a treat today! He was so adorable at lunch. He was eating banana off of chopsticks which I was feeding him! He loved it and was squealing with frustration because I was taking too long to get it to his mouth!!!
Michael and mother have pics they need to send me. I will post them when they do!

I had another fabulous day and tomorrow. It is cleaning house day. I am attacking one room at a time and doing MAJOR baby proofing. It is that time!

Mangolicious!!!

Baby Jay loves Mango baby food!!!
I first discovered this interesting tidbit yesterday.
I sat down and fed him some green beans. He finished a large jar of it and I started him on his dessert.
Mangos. I wanted to give it to him early in the day should he have an allergic reaction to this new food. I only gave him 1/2 a jar, as I knew he would be getting full!
Well, when it was done, I signed to him, "all done". He started screaming and his fists were going and his feet were going...it was obvious he wanted more! So I fixed the other half of the jar. I sat down and his mouth was wide open until I put the next bite in! He finished a large jar of green beans and mango!
I took along breakfast and went to my mother's this morning to visit. Adults-donoughts. baby Jay-squash and mango. He ate the squash all up. Then I said to my mother, "watch this. He loves mango!" She began to feed him and after his first bite he was manipulating his tongue like he was trying to get every last bit out of the flavor! He was even licking it off of the outside around his mouth trying to get at it! He finished the whole jar and was completely satisfied.
I am sure it is hard to understand by me just telling you, but it is definitely worth seeing a little boy, a high chair, and a jar of mango!

Blankie

Baby Jay was snuggling with his blankie today.
He loves to suckle his blankie when he is tired.

I think back to when I was little and I too had a blankie. I am so tired, I wish I had a blankie right now too!

Now let's discuss the color of his hair!?
It seems to be coming out quite red in photographs, although it has a more blondish lightbrownish auburn real life color. I know that grammy is hoping for dark like mine. I want it to be like his Daddy's hair! Then again, everything else is his dad's traits who are we to kid about the hair??? Although I do believe he gets the big round shape of his eyes from me. At least give me that! I did, after all, carry him for nine + months, deliver him, and get up every few hours to feed him now for the past 6 months!!!!! hehehehe

If you didn't get a chance to see yesterday's post(which I did this morning) scroll on down. I also added pics.

Here's a card I made today!

A day to remember

I had the best day with my mother yesterday!
I picked her up at 9:00am and we headed out for a shopping day! We headed towards Daytona Beach with AC Moore as our first stop! I needed to check out some 1$ stamps for card making. We shopped there a bit then headed over to Tuesday Morning. I looked around there while my mother ran over to Bealls. We met back up in Tuesday Morning where I found a hammock mess bag for hanging in the tub for baby toys to dry in. It is getting to the time when bath time becomes a huge form of playtime! I am trying to make it as comfortable experience for Michael as possible. {Giggling!} He has become the "bathing connoisseur". This is such a burden off my shoulders and a chance to take a break.
After TM, we headed towards the ocean. As we went over the intercoastal we could see the ocean from the top of the bridge. The palm trees, blue skies, sunshine, and gorgeous ocean splayed out before us was such a beautiful sight. We were going to go and check out the daytona boardwalk, when I decided I wanted to head up just short of Ormond and check out a scrapbook store. Unfortunately, the woman is selling it and there was not much to look at there. While inside, I was chatting with the store owner and happened to mention my mother and I were on our way to lunch. She asked where we were going. I asked her what her suggestion was, and she responded, D.B. Pickles(Deli and Bakery). It was delicious! I had a brisket sandwich and mothe rhad a Reuben. Baby Jay had cheerios! While Mother was in the bathroom, I snuck the check and paid. She treats me all the time! After, we stopped at the bakery counter and mother got 3 cookies. They were scrumptous, I had part of two most had chocolate so I couldn't have. I didn't mind at all...I was full from lunch!
From there, we headed back down to Daytona Beach and wandered around Marshall's. I ended up finding shin guards for jayda for a super good deal, so I grabbed those up quickly. It was just after walking out of the store, when we realized it was late! It was 3 pm! Hopped in the car and headed home...as Mother was leaving with dad to go to Saturn in Daytona for a follow up dinner where they had just bought their new car.
I headed home and relaxed. I did not have to pick up the children from school as they were being picked up by their father. I took care of Baby Jay and played with him on the floor for some time. He is such a character! Still working on sitting up and hasn't gotten the idea of how to crawl yet. But not a bad thing...when he goes...he is going to GO!!!!
I made dinner for Michael and we had an enjoyable quiet evening...save for a baby who was crabby just before bed! But he is so good so often, a little crankiness is good for him!
I have some cute pictures, but I can't find my cord to hook camera to PC...I will look harder for it and post later!
Hmmm, I am worried...I don't know where it is.
Found it....Jacob got it mixed in with his video game wires...phew!

Have a wonderful day doing whatever you love doing most!
