More wonderful memories!

Last Wednesday, September 24, Jay was hanging out with Mother and I as we headed over to the Farmers/Flea Circus. He was such a good boy and enjoyed our outing. On the way back from Lunch, Jay was playing peek a boo. He would put up his blankie and drop it down when we said "peek a boo"! This was the beginning of his "growing" phase. He weighs 25 pounds at 11 months. He is 30 1/2 inches tall. He is wearing 24 month clothing and size 18 month jeans. I can not get over what a "big" boy he is. Not only is he changing physically, but he is becoming so much more involved in what is going on around him. He is very verbal and will call out to Jayda by saying
"aydah". Sometimes he screams it when I am in the back room changing his diaper. I guess I have hollered on Jayda a time or two whilst I am changing his diaper. He will holler for her and then sit quiet and look to see if she is coming. He has a definitive "aydah" but we do not recognize anything from him as to what he calls Jacob. Hmmm, I will keep you posted on that.
Friday, I finished up all the laundry, played with baby Jay, and packed for our weekend in Ocala.

The bugs were pretty bad on the drive through the forest at sunset, but seeing a young buck and black bear made the entire trip worthwhile!

Early the next morning, Jayda was up to go fishing with Michael and Dad. She had her columbia gear on and was ready to go.

She caught the only fish for what seemed like forever...it was a Bonnethead Shark and it was not happy to be caught. Jayda reportd it swung up and nearly bit Grampy Jay in the stomach!

Then, Michael hit a honey of a trout hole and he and Dad were reeling in dinner.

Upon arrival, the fish were offloaded and the boat cleaning and fish cleaning began.
I love seeing fish in a cooler! I do not love the sight of fish being cleaned! However, Jayda is so far up the fish cleaners space, she may get splattered with fish guts. It fascinates her!
Gotta love a sea trout!

Jay came out to see what it was all about! Just in time, Aunt jayne was here!

Meanwhile, we were off to Griffin's early to check out the scrapping supplies, then to Target to get some new baby socks, Hobby Lobby fir their 50% off sale, and then to Stride Right to get baby his first pair of shoes. Can you believe that the camera was on the boat and I did not get a single shot of the shoe place!?
It was so sweet...went in and put Jay down. The store is very child friendly and he liked it right away. There was another young girl in the store getting a new pair of shoes. She watched Jay as she was a litle older. Jay found the toys right away and had no desire for the shoes. I picked up a pair of shoes and looked at the price. $53.00. I nearly keeled over from sticker shock. I am a woman. I love shoes. I have had as many as 30 pair of shoes in my closet at one time. I HAVE NEVER SPENT OVER 30 DOLLARS FOR A PAIR OF SHOES!!!! YEEEIIIKKKEEESSS!!! Well, I thought I can't spend that kind of money on a pair of baby shoes. But, I had Jay measured for shoes and he was a size 6. I debated and went back and looked more...and fell in love with these shoes.

I guess I would discuss the price with Michael when he finally got around to asking me. In the meantime, Grampy Jay and Michael had got to talking about the shoes and Grampy said he bet they cost as much as a man's shoe. Michael said-NO WAY! Jessica wouldn't spend that kind of money...GULP! Grammy Peggy said she paid alot of money for her children's first shoes too. But she said like 20$. Hmmm, still not feeling better! Then upon arriving home and having dinner at my parents, jay walked in with his shoes on(sorry about the carpet dad...LOL). First words out of Michael's mouth, did she tell you how much they cost? My mother spouted off I bet 50$. I said how did you know? She had paid 30$ for my first shoes 37 years ago! My dad was floored at the price and mother defended the purchase and I felt a whole heck of a lot better! I think maybe Michael did too...however, I committed to looking at ross in the future for his Stride Rite shoes as I have seen them there often. For Michael's sake...

The children were off to play in the pool and Jay hung out with Grammy, Jayne, and Mommy.

After swimming, Mom had remembered something she wanted to show us and came out wearing this!

She then handed one to Jayda...frightening!!!!

and to Jacob....

How funny are those??? Then she said I needed to wear one...and so did Mike!

Then it was dinner time!

We arrived home Sunday late morning, in time for the children to be picked up by their dad. After unpacking, I spent the afternoon working on a layout while jay napped. Michael cleaned the cars this evening...just in time for it to rain. Grrrr! Oh well, we need rain I will not complain!
While he was working, I was playing with Jay and decided to get him dressed for dinner and take him out to play in his new shoes!

My mother fixed a wonderfully deliscious dinner for us tonight. It is good to have my parents back in town!
Tomorrow, Jayda starts girl scouts with her first meeting after school! That should be so much fun for her!
Tuesday morning I have a conference at school with jayda's teacher. It is not really necessary, but I want to connect with the teacher as this is our first time at a new schol...where I am not teaching! I always knew what was going on at school being on premises teacheing. Now, I am not.
Wednesday is farmers market and dinner at my mothers with the whole family...Jacob's favorite thing!
My long time Florida friend JoLynn called me this afternoon! We are meeting for lunch on Thursday! I met her at the school I started teaching at a week after moving to Florida in 1993. She and I go way back. Although, we lose contact occasionally, we remain friends. She was in real estate and just got laid off.
friday, I am open...anyone wanna do something?
Again, this is so much information at all one sitting isn't it? Oh well, if your neck isn't hurting and your buttski gone numb...then it just hasn't been a good blog post!!!
Til then, blog ya later!
